Stuck at home? stuck outside? stuck in your mind? Come unstuck with us as we dive deep into this mindfullness practice.
In this session together we'll brainstorm ideas for your ideal mantra to help you through your week ahead AND get you inspired to create a mandala as a visual representation of your weekly mantra.
Mantras or Positive Affirmations... whatever you want to call them, have been shown in empirical studies to decrease health-deteriorating stress (Sherman et al., 2009; Critcher & Dunning, 2015) amongst a range of other benefits to our brains through neuroplasticity. Basically, Mantras help calm your brain and body down.... which is just what we need when recovering from CIRS.
So how do mandalas fit in? Well mandalas can allow for introspection and self reflection but they can also allow you to externalise what lies within. Whichever way your mind goes, the mandala process allows focused attention, acceptance of imperfections, and creative self expression. All the while neurons are utilized and connected in new ways that were not previously connected, therefore increasing possibilities for change and increased healing opportunities.
