NOURISHING REST QI GONG - CONNECT WITH YOUR INNATE HEALING ABILITIES TO SUPPORT YOUR TREATMENTS & RECOVERY
This class is suitable for beginners as well as those experienced with Qi Gong.
The lessons will help support chronic illness recovery or simply be a gentle practice that anyone can do to energise the body & relax the mind.
Come along and see if these practices can support you, as they do for Adrian and other participants. You can attend any of the classes as an individual stand-alone session, but will gain a greater experience and create momentum for your health by committing to them all.
This class is facilitated by Adrian who understands chronic illness from his own personal journey, having directly experienced the challenges our community faces. In this class you will be supported within a group of other individuals sharing a similar journey, each learning how best to support and recover their health. More information about Adrian
Adrian Allen is a qualified Qi Gong facilitator on his own journey with chronic illness. He has been a patient of and studied under leaders in the fields of Qi Gong and Functional Medicine and is keen to share practices and strategies which support his own healing, wellness and navigation of life's challenges with an invisible illness.
Prior to becoming very unwell Adrian worked for 25 years in nature-based programs and wilderness therapy, using journeys to support personal growth. He is keen to bring others together on a shared healing journey, using Qi Gong practises to nourish and heal body and mind, along with other strategies, skills and habits he has learned that enhance wellness and vitality. Adrian knows from deep, personal experience that doing Qi Gong practices in a group with a shared intention amplifies the energy flow and felt benefits, and can enhance the effectiveness of other treatments being used. He is responding to a call to create and hold space for others, and to facilitate a shared journey to increased wellness and vitality.
More from Adrian regarding Qigong and the recovery of health
What makes this class different to most is the focus on how your body responds to things. I have spent a lot of time studying people that have recovered from chronic conditions and in this introductory course and subsequent courses share their common traits.
If I had read and understood this next part 12 years ago it would have saved me from a lot of struggle but more importantly put me on the path of a greater ability to know, understand and take action on what was a small but vital area that I and many others are not able to understand. It’s one of the biggest pieces missing in chronic illness recovery or for that matter any type of recovery or growth. That being how I responded to events that happened to me and I had no control of (fair or unfair) which allowed me to choose (and gain some autonomy) the direction my health and life would go. Treatments, supplements, diets, operations, desire for change and healing sadly didn’t help. It led to long term powerlessness, hopelessness and set up losing faith in my own resiliency and innate capacity to heal, learn and grow.
The chronic illness world is an invisible one with most of its inhabitants feeling overwhelmed, powerless, unrecognised and let down by their bodies, the system and life. The most determined and resilient are knocked down by the loop of ill health and corresponding trauma and stress (physical, financial, emotional and mental) that no practitioner (and most often family and friends) is able to help. I was one of them until I learned to help myself and that is what these classes and groups are about. Connecting with each person’s own inner healer, wisdom and power through committed action to increase your self-awareness and self-care whilst supported by a shared intention and like-minded individuals raising their health and quality of life.
This is 100% the type of service that I needed when I started on my health journey to better utilise and understand how to best navigate my health challenges and support my body, mind and spirit with the barrage of treatments, investigations (and unfortunately often lack of understanding) that practitioners would recommend. Many others have found this and I wish the same for you.
"It's a refreshing change to be in a group like this in the comfort of your home".
"Personal, supportive, relatable, lighthearted, enjoyable, makes you feel like coming back".
