Roll out your yoga mat, crank up the air purifiers and take a deep breath... Here within the Sanctuary Session YOU ARE SAFE! Allow your nervous system some respite as we co-regulate, checking in with our bodies and checking out from our overactive foggy minds.
Led by Amelie, who is also journeying along the path to recovering her health after decades of chronic illness due to mould, lyme & physical injury. She incorporates many of the practices she has learnt on her journey that have taken her from being bedbound to now being physically active and enjoying much better health and happiness. She shares many tips and tricks that you can implement into your daily healing routine that switch you from "fight or flight" mode and into "rest & digest" healing mode, allowing you to move further along your own path to better health and happiness.
What to expect:
Amelie opens the zoom ten minutes early to allow time for people to join and chat amongst others in our healing community before we begin the session by releasing our worries, fears or anything we wish to let go of and shaking off that uneasy energy before doing a grounding visualisation exercise to help our mind & body know it’s safe and can come out of fight or flight mode. We focus on a few minutes of breath work before beginning the movement portion of the class with some gentle stretches and yoga poses (all seated or reclined on the floor and a couple on hands and knees if you can manage. *if you are unable to sit cross legged on the floor then you will be guided to do modified versions whilst seated in a chair, on your couch or on the edge of your bed).
We then take a break from movement and practice EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping combined with visualisation to help redirect our brains focus, healthily process challenging emotions and calm our worried amygdalas.
We then do some more gentle stretches before tension release and lymphatic exercises, a smidge of Qi Gong and wrap it all up with some vagus nerve stimulation.
Set aside an hour, but often we run overtime by 10 - 20 minutes because the session is just so beneficial and no one wants it to end! 🙌🏽
